Dinner and a Show

After roasting on the ferry and taking a 30 min. break at the hotel, we went to dinner at an authentic/fun Italian restaurant - Mangia Y Bevi. We will definitely be returning.

Amy has some serious luck and got us tickets to Wicked through ticketmaster the night before. We had been keeping our eyes open before going to New York but couldn't find anything really reasonable. Love the show. It was actually my second time.

Poor Amy slept through part of Wicked due to taking medicine for a headache that didn't agree with her. She felt like how this picture of her looks.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island - Day 3

This guy was actually hilarious. He asked Jason to dance to his music but when he declined he asked where he was from. After Jason said SLC the guy started singing about the Beehive State, Ogden, Provo, Bryce Canyon, Utes, and Mormons. He busted out some serious knowledge regarding the Beehive State.

Can't tell but we are dying of heat. 94 degrees with humidity.

The boys on during the Statue of Liberty headphone tour.

Ellis Island - very historic place. Headphone tour highly recommended.

New York - Night Bus Tour

After the "Top of the Rock" we went on a Night Bus Tour through lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. It was actually really fun and interesting however it was freezing - didn't think to bring a jacket for when the sun went down. (pre-heat wave)

Chrysler Building - beautiful.

Hello New York - Day 1

We were invited to go to New York (or did we invite ourselves?) with our next door neighbors (Mackay) to attend Yankee games before the stadium closes.
We flew in a day early and celebrated our 12 year anniversary (week early) by dining at Ruth Chris and then heading to Time Square.

Thought this was cute in Time Square. Made us smile and thought Carter would enjoy it.

We went to the Temple the next morning while waiting for Mackays to fly in. It was a new experience to have the temple coordinators scrambling to find temple workers to perform ordinances. The inside was beautiful and an extreme opposite to its outside surroundings. I think we should make it a tradition to attend a temple each time we travel.

"Cougar Nation" in West Jordan

Not sure if you saw this on the news, but we thought it was a joke when we got a phone call letting us know not to let our children out and to bring in animals due to a cougar being spotted in our neighborhood. We drove the girls to school as a precaution but then it was late afternoon and the kids were wanting to go outside to play (of course it was the best weather we have had in a while) Because I am such a good parent :) I thought to call West Jordan City to check on the so called "cougar sighting" as soon as I mentioned where we lived she immediately said not to go outside because they still have not captured the cougar. Next thing I realized channel 2 and 5 helicopters were circling over our house. The kids thought it was awesome. I was waiting for Jason to call me and say he saw us on the news in our backyard. I final believed there must really be a cougar. Amy and I piled the kids in the car and headed out to see if we could get a sighting. Sure enough we headed two streets east and 4 streets north and found people running with cameras, hopping fences, police, wild animal services, and cages in the back of trucks. Authorities had tranquilized it but it kept running and jumping fences. Finally they captured it and when caged they let the neighborhood come up and take pictures. Carter was cute and said he wasn't scared but as soon as he got out of the car he grabbed my hand. Who would of thought, a cougar in suburbia?

Cruisin' with my bro

I couldn't help but take pictures of Carter and Madison cruising around on a summer afternoon. They are so cute together and Madison loves to go for rides in the jeep. She just sits there and enjoys the ride even when he slides around corners and drops off the gutters.
