First Day of School

Miss Jaiden is now in 2nd grade. She is lucky to have 10 friends from our neighborhood in her class. Of course this is not lucky for the teacher. Bonus for mom because they will all be off track together.

Neighborhood Parade and BBQ

We attended the annual neighborhood parade and BBQ on Saturday.
The kids always enjoy the snow cones and cotton candy. We enjoyed not having to cook the burgers at the grill in 100 degree weather. We always count our blessings for living in such a great neighborhood.

Reunions, baseball and fireworks

We drove up the canyon to a great hidden park "Washington Terrace". We met my parents for the Walton Reunion. There was a fun playground and small stream next to the pavilion. Plenty of huge trees provide shade and relief from the heat. The kids were able to make paper rockets that they launched into the sky by the power of an air compressor and PVC pipes. We couldn't believe how high they flew.

Later that evening we met Jason's parents at the Bees game for baseball and fireworks. Madison is such a social butterfly and people kept talking to her without any response. They kept asking how old she was 2 or 3. I finally intervened and told them she was only 18 months. The hair and size throws people off with her age - they just think she is a mute 2 or 3 year old. We covered Madison's ears and she actual made it through the fireworks without crying. The kids love Bees games and especially running the bases after the game.

Happy Pioneer Day!!!

After swimming in the afternoon we headed over to Hamilton's for firework fun.

Jaiden and Mariko throwing "pop-its"

"Triplets" Conner, Carter and Nate

"Firebug" not sure who enjoys the fireworks more, Jason lighting them or the kids?

Madison kept retreating to the porch. She did not like the fireworks.

"Wrestle Mania"

The other night I went into Carter's room for family prayer to find Jason and the kids in full wrestle mania. Jason is actually showing them the following moves - 1/2 nelson, full nelson, vulcan, scissor hold, pony bite, banana split, loopy (created by Jason and his little brother Adam) frogger, "arm"(politically correct) burn, and nuggie. I didn't have brothers growing up and had no idea that there were actual moves to wrestling. Let alone a separate vocabulary. Jason had the kids laughing with every move he performed on them. I guess he is just passing on tradition.

Movie Popcorn

We had the Mackays over for a weekend movie night. The adults watched a movie downstairs while the kids enjoyed one upstairs. Its fun to have such great friends living next door.
We also had outdoor movie night over at the Carvers. They are always great hosts to set up the movie outside and this time they provided glow sticks to the kids. How lucky are we to have such great neighbors!

Good Morning!!!

Every morning we are greeted by this hair-do and a "Hiiiii". It makes our mornings enjoyable. Yes she is only 18 months old and has had a full head of hair as long as we can remember. It seems to just be getting thicker and longer ever day. "Oh Mawson we love you!"

"Summer Luau"

We were invited to attend a summer Luau in honor of our friends Matt and Amanda's wedding. It was held at West Bountiful park where I grew up. It was fun to see all our old friends and brought back great times and memories spent there. Unfortunately Daddy was out of town.

Desperate Times = Desperate Measures

On our way home from the cabin we got desperate with Madison and allowed her to have an ice cream cone. As you can see from the smile she loved it. We are grateful for the invention of wet wipes.

"Cabin Fever"

We went to Grandma Great's cabin in Island Park over the 4th of July.

We had the pleasure of varnishing the cabin while visiting. Of course Mike made fun of Michel and Jason's window taping job. Overall it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be and the cabin looked great afterwards.

Bear World

We stopped by Bear World on our way to the cabin. It was bonus to have the Hamiltons traveling with us.
